These wrestlers prioritized their professional lives other their personal ones, as they continued to work together after breaking up.
Because pro wrestling is such an all-consuming profession, wrestlers often end up dating one another for the simple reason that they don't have many opportunities to meet anyone else. There have been several on-screen pairings that led to or were inspired by off-screen relationships. Of course, not all of these relationships work out, and sometimes these couples are in the midst of a storyline that were concluded in spite of their status.

In some cases, former wrestling couples were asked to work with one another in order to play off their former associations. Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth are a classic example of couples who worked together after their split, but there are other examples as well.
It's been well documented that Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth had something of a storybook romance, as it relates to the world of pro wrestling. While Randy and Liz were together for the better part of a decade, jealousy and the pressures of being a high-profile couple eventually caused them to go their separate ways.
In fact, it was not long after their now infamous on-screen wedding at SummerSlam in 1991, that the two would split for the final time. It's a testament to both Randy and Liz's professionalism that they would find themselves working together a few years later in WCW, both side by side and against one another. Now that both Randy and Elizabeth have left us, this list is one more example of just how special they both were.
This is of course a much more recent example of a couple that worked together after they called it a day. Prior to the landmark, All In event in Chicago, and essentially the inception of AEW, Ford and Janela were very much a couple. She would accompany him to the ring during his match with Hangman Page, but the two would announce their breakup not long after.
Penelope would eventually begin dating Kip Sabian while both were working with AEW, and Joey had been contracted by the company as well. It wasn't a long storyline, but the three would use the real-life situation to pit Sabian against Janela in the early days of AEW.
Before Steve Austin was Stone Cold, he was just another young hopeful trying to find his way in the wrestling business. Austin was trained by a wrestler named Chris Adams, best known for his work in WCCW. The couple split in the early 1980s, but continued to work together.
Blossom would become aligned with Steve Austin, and even helped him develop his 'Stone Cold' persona. One thing led to another, and Blossom and Austin would fall for one another and go on to have two children.
The real-life Dustin and Terri Runnels began dating during their time in WCW in the early 90s. When Dustin was rebranded as Goldust upon coming into the WWE, Marlena would follow him a few months after, being cast as his on-screen manager.

Although Dustin and Terri would have a daughter together, they would eventually decide that their marriage wasn't working, and would divorce. In spite of their status as a couple, Marlena and Goldust would work together in an angle with Brian Pillman, that would see Pillman try to drive a wedge between the two, as their divorce was not acknowledged publicly at the time. Ironically enough, Terri had actually dated Pillman before she and Dustin became an item.
The real-life Nancy Toffoloni, got her start in the wrestling business alongside her soon-to-be husband, Kevin Sullivan in 1984. Being rechristened as Woman, Nancy would remain married to Sullivan until the late 90s. Sullivan would book his then wife to be in the corner of his rival at the time.
Life would imitate art, and Nancy would begin a relationship with the wrestler, leading to her and Kevin getting a divorce. We all know how this story ended, and it's one of the most tragic in the history of the sport, but it's still a testament to both Nancy and Kevin that they were able to remain professional while working with one another.
Kurt Angle and his wife, Karen, were married before Kurt had even broken into the pro wrestling business. When Kurt left WWE for TNA in 2006, he stated that his marriage to Karen had begun to have problems. When Karen became an on-air character in TNA, she and Kurt divorced, not long after.
During this same time frame, Jeff Jarrett tragically lost his wife, and he and Karen forged a bond over time. Jarrett and Karen would eventually begin a relationship, and TNA opted to exploit the real-life situation in a storyline. Kurt Angle has said that while there were certain aspects of the angle that made him uncomfortable, he, Karen, and Jarrett were always professional with one another.
This one played out on television for the entire world to see, as fans had become accustomed to Matt Hardy and Lita, as both an on and off-screen pair. In 2004/2005, Matt Hardy would suffer an injury and be taken off the road for a certain time period. During this time, Matt's friend and fellow wrestler, Edge, and Lita, would begin a clandestine relationship, that Matt would eventually uncover.

During an episode of the interactive program, Byte This, Matt would publicly call Lita out for the affair, and would be let go from the company shortly after. During his absence, Edge and Lita would be paired together as an on-screen duo to play off the love triangle. Matt would return in the summer of 2005 and would begin a heated rivalry with Edge, which would of course see Lita and Matt interacting on a number of occasions.
While it had been rumored for some time, it was actually Vince himself, who seemed to confirm that he and his wife, Linda were no longer living together during an interview on the Pat McAfee podcast. This was of course followed by the barrage of accusations levied against Vince in the summer of 2022, that ultimately led to his shocking retirement from WWE. The timeline for Vince and Linda's separation is unclear and will likely never be fully divulged. What we do know is that while the pair are still married, they have been living separately for some time.
This would indicate that not only did Vince and Linda co-exist on WWE television following their break-up, but that they continued to do business together behind the scenes as well. It's been well documented that Vince donated money to Linda's political campaign, and the two were seen publicly supporting one another on a number of occasions. Much like Vince's recent scandals, we will likely never know the full extent of what transpired between him and Linda, and why they chose to end their relationship, without actually divorcing. Of course, many will speculate why the two chose not to make their separation official. What's almost certain is that Vince and Linda continued to work together in spite of their relationship status.
