The newest trailer for the upcoming Disney Dreamlight Valley features the player going on an advertising campaign for Scrooge McDuck's new shop.

The newest trailer for Disney Dreamlight Valley shows off several new missions for the player to partake in, including schilling for Scrooge McDuck. The iconic billionaire is one of several Disney characters confirmed for Disney’s upcoming take on the life simulator genre, populated by such titans of the genre as Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. As expected with such popular influences, dedicated fans of the genre have already spotted a number of resemblances between Animal Crossing and Disney Dreamlight Valley, like the similar relationship feature.

Announced this past April, Disney Dreamlight Valley is a free-to-play adventure simulation game set in the eponymous world of Dreamlight Valley. Like most social simulators, players can customize their avatar, build friendships, and craft domiciles with the added benefit of performing these actions with several of Disney’s iconic personalities. Unlike other social simulator games that lack a dedicated end goal, however, Dreamlight Valley will have a story in which players must free the land from an evil force known as the Forgetting. With an adventurous story to drive players onward, along with the innate wonder of interacting with well-known Disney characters, many believe Disney Dreamlight Valley can fix Animal Crossing’s mistakes in terms of tedious engagement.

As reported by GamesRadar+, Disney Dreamlight Valley’s official YouTube channel shared a video detailing several activities players will participate in. One such activity showed the player start a marketing campaign for Scrooge McDuck’s general store. This had the added benefit of displaying the game's crafting feature used in making signs for the campaign. Along with helping Scrooge with his business, other such tasks included cooking pastries with Remy from Ratatouille and sharing them with Kristoff from Frozen, and crafting a beach hang out for the player and Little Mermaid’s Ariel. The trailer also showcased some fashionable customization options with the latest in Disney fashion.

Scrooge McDuck's inclusion and role as shop-owner may indicate that Animal Crossing's influence in Disney Dreamlight Valley runs deeper than previously believed. An anthropomorphic animal who runs their own company is just like Animal Crossing’s famous businessman Tom Nook. Though Nook’s professions have changed over the Animal Crossing series, he is always there to provide new players with everything they need to get started in their new lives in the village. While it remains to be seen if Scrooge McDuck will be as involved with the player in Dreamlight Valley, it would be a missed opportunity not to involve the financially famous fowl in a role pivotal to the player’s development. As Disney Dreamlight Valley will be a free-to-play game, perhaps he can run any microtransaction shops the game may implement.

Regardless of his role, Scrooge McDuck's presence alone already brings with it the recognizable Disney charm Dreamlight Valley hopes to capture. With Scrooge McDuck, Remy, Ariel, and several other Disney characters confirmed for Dreamlight Valley thus far, it will be intriguing to see if such beloved personalities can give a fresh take on the popular simulator genre. While details on the game's monetization options are sparse at the moment, they will likely be revealed the closer it gets to release. As Disney Dreamlight Valley will be entering early access this September, fans of the Magic Kingdom won't have to wait long to experience it for themselves.
