Hiperwall, which designs content management software for video walls, has released Hiperwall 8.0 with features focused on control room optimization for government agencies, security operations, and network operations centers, according to a press release.
"Our new HiperZones feature adds a powerful layer of user and content management capabilities that keeps displayed information focused while providing admins unprecedented control of their video wall system's operation," Dr. Stephen Jenks, chief scientist and co-founder of Hiperwall, said in the release. The feature allows administrators to assign subsections of screens in a video wall to individual presenters and content managers without granting admin privileges to the whole wall.
The software also introduces Hipercast Pull, which allows Hiperwall systems to connect securely across an organization's deployment. "HiperCast Pull was created with direct feedback from several customers. Many large organizations with multiple video walls, often with those walls connected to very high-security networks, need to share content between their various locations. Rather than punch through the network firewall by port-forwarding to each Hiperwall system, we streamlined the process by directing the controllers to pull content from the HiperCast server, reducing security risks and simplifying system and network setup," Jenks said in the release.
The HiperSource Streamer Plus component allows the software suite to support UHD video up to 4K (60Hz).
