The Sims 4: High School Years is perfect for designing teenage paradises and living the teen years to the fullest. Here's a build and buy guide.

As long-time players will already know, expansion packs for The Sims 4 typically add new game mechanics in Create A Sim and build mode. The Sims 4: High School Years is no different, and players can expect to get more build/buy items for their building needs after installing it.

The teen years for sims are all about discovering identities, likes, and showcasing talents. One way players can do this is by decorating their teen's rooms and purchasing skill-building items. The Sims 4: High School Years brings almost everything a teen could want in build/buy mode, and it is one of the first packs to include items tailored to the curved walls that are now in the game.

High School Years has new wallpapers, paint, and bricks for players to use on their builds. They're geared towards teens, so bright colors and intricate designs are highlighted with some of the options and all the high school architecture comes in the pack. In total, the pack includes eight new wallpapers and one flooring option.

There are a few residential fence and door options, but most of them are used for building the Copperdale high school. Players are able to completely customize the high school lot with these and base game items. There are also doors designed specifically for the curved walls included in the pack. In total, the pack includes seven doors, two gates, and three fences.

There are curved windows as well as some interactive windows and trellises. Sims can now enter or exit using the EZ Window and, if it is set on a second story, they can use the trellis to climb down. In total, the pack includes five windows, one wall decal, and four trellises.

Sims now have more bed and chair options than ever before. Teenagers can have the bed of their choice for pillow fights that come with funky bed frames or the ultimate gaming chair for streaming. Players can also find the cafeteria seats and classroom chairs. In total, the pack includes ten beds, 17 chairs, and four couches.

The buy categories that got the least amount of additions are the appliances and plumbing. Three trash cans and three food and beverage vending machines make up the appliances and, for plumbing, there is a new stalled bathroom and one sink.

The Sims 4: High School Years has many decorations and environmental items. This is where players will find items that teen sims can use to really express themselves. These categories consist of 88 items including curtains, rugs, wall decorations, clothes racks, mirrors, lockers, dolls, and sculptors.

The new pack introduces clubs and jobs such as cheerleading, football, and video game streaming. Players can use the following DLC exclusive items to build these skills:

The pack also includes more items for fun activities, including six radios, two chess boards, one mic, and two photo booths.

From bedside tables to bookcases, there are plenty of storage and shelving items that come with the pack. These can be used for things like holding smaller items and setting lamps or handhelds on. In total, the pack includes 13 tables, seven desks, 16 shelves, 12 dresses, and four bookcases.

Lastly, there are 16 lights that come with the new pack. Players can use the new LED lights or the softer fairy lights to create a vibe in their Sims' bedrooms. There are also more subtle options for wall lights or attention-grabbing ceiling lights for those who want to make an impression.
