Title, Weeks at No. 1, Year(s)
With 91 total weeks at No. 1, The Chainsmokers boast the most among duos/groups and rank second overall only to Lady Gaga (291). Similarly, Memories…Do Not Open maintains the mark for the longest reign for a duo/group. Overall, it trails only Gaga’s enduring The Fame, which has amassed 172 weeks at No. 1 from its November 2008 debut through last week’s May 21-dated chart.
On the multi-metric Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, The Chainsmokers debut eight songs from Good, upping their total to 10 charted titles from the album. With 48 overall songs to hit the chart, which began in 2013, the pair sports the most among duos/groups and ties Martin Garrix for the fourth-most overall, after David Guetta (65), Kygo (56) and Marshmello (51).
“I Love U” leads the pack of Good debuts at No. 5, marking The Chainsmokers’ 22nd top 10, tying Kygo for the most in the chart’s history. “Love” is also the highest debuting song on the chart this year, and the loftiest new entry since Tiesto and Ava Max’s “The Motto” (No. 4, Nov. 20, 2021).
“Love” locked in 3.1 million U.S. streams and 600 downloads in its initial frame. The track also bows at No. 8 on both Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs and Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales. It additionally drew 124,000 in radio audience and is scoring early support on four SiriusXM channels: Rhythmic Airplay reporter Pandora Now (55 plays May 13-19), Pop Airplay panelists Hits 1 (29) and Venus (14) and Dance/Mix Show Airplay reporter BPM (five).
Plus, the set’s “Riptide,” which peaked at No. 9 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs (May 7), surges 23-17 with top Sales Gainer honors (up 250% to 300 sold). Good has yielded one other top 10, “iPad” (No. 6, March 26).
A Few More “Words”: Additionally on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, Alesso and Zara Larsson lift 12-10 with “Words.” It’s Alesso’s sixth top 10 on the chart and Larsson’s fourth.
“Words” earns the survey’s top Streaming Gainer award, up 41% to 1.9 million streams.
