The Queen's image replaced the usual information and advertisements seen on electronic signs and billboards

The face of Queen Elizabeth has replaced the usual information and advertisements seen on electronic signs and billboards around Coventry. It came as the city pays its respects to the late monarch.

Queen Elizabeth II died at Balmoral yesterday, aged 96. Buckingham Palace confirmed the news in a statement yesterday.

It said: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.” They have since returned to Buckingham Palace.

The nation has now entered a 10-day period of mourning. It will see the Union Jack and national flags flown at half-mast above council buildings, royal residences, military bases and churches.

Screens and electronic billboards in Coventry have been paying tribute to Queen Elizabeth II. Memorial images of the Queen have been emblazoned on signs that might normally display information or advertising.

The most noticeable was the giant screen outside Coventry Transport Museum. You can see a selection of some of the screens and electronic billboards that displayed the Queen’s image in Coventry below.
